Kathleen's perspectives stem from her wide array of involvement in many issues.

Through my writing and public presentations I seek to increase understanding between the urban and rural sectors of our society.

It is my opinion that a great communication 'disconnect' exists now between these sectors and that it is widening.

This "disconnect" is resulting in a lessening of mutual respect; unnecessary polarization over public policies regarding agricultural/natural resource utilization; and negative misperceptions regarding cultural differences.

"On the ground" this nationwide disconnect translates into wasted time, wasted talent, wasted human and financial resources, and last but not least abuse of cultural differences.

I firmly believe that better understanding, mutual respect and honesty will reconnect America and bring out the best in all sectors of our nation.
I embrace the idea that each person can make a positive difference. My effort is to convey to audiences why we should, and how we can.
