AMERICAN
UNIVERSITY
A contradiction
in terms
This is not an article
for the many liberals who strive to destroy this nation intentionally
and unintentionally. Not withstanding the fact that there are a fair
number of conservatives who share that same goal when it comes to natural
resource issues, but that's another article. This article is about American
University's (AU) Gestapo mentality.
An undergraduate
journalism student at AU in Washington, D.C., who committed the 'state
sin' of videotaping a speech by Tipper Gore was placed on disciplinary
probation for one year. The kangaroo court that tried and convicted
Mr. Ben Wetmore has gone on to place other punishments on him. He must
also attend a conflict resolution workshop, perform 40 hours of community
service by cleaning the auditorium, and write several papers on the
topic of 'conflict resolution'. Additionally, he has been stripped of
an elected student position and given a warning that should he be involved
in another such incident that he will be expelled from the university.
Expulsion might be the best thing that could happen to Mr. Wetmore.
Unbelievable as
it might seem the above is only part of the Gestapo tactics being used
by American University to control minds, bodies, and mouths of students.
Mr. Wetmore's film has been confiscated; he was put on the floor and
handcuffed. The student was not aware that videotaping was not allowed.
The only relevant information put out by the university was that no
'flash photography' would be allowed.
Blow-by-unbelievable
blow can be read in www.newsmax.com
August 12 edition. This article by Carl Limbacher and staff reveals
life right out of pre World War II Germany. Control of people, their
actions and their minds is the world created at American University.
American University
is neither American, nor is it a university. While liberal for decades
now, it must have completely morphed into a cesspool of insecure opinions
being passed off as intellectual thought and reflection. Like the 'Survivor'
show and its clones, this state institution is a pretense, a masquerade,
a four-year smoke and mirrors event that costs thousands of dollars.
The academic community's
intellectual terrorism has been getting worse for awhile. It reared
its ugly head right after 9-11 when it tried to punish professors for
speaking in support of our invasion of Afghanistan. Now this! There
are thousands of instances which reveal how universities are mind chambers
where Big Brother holds forth and holds court!
Check out the website
of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE). The site
is: www.thefire.org.
This organization is making a valiant attempt to prevent the total takeover
of American minds.
While Mr. Wetmore's
ongoing experience and legal fight continues, American University continues
to pass it self off as a place of higher learning. The administration
of AU, which tolerates such reprehensible policies, has degraded the
meaning of both of the words American and university. They do not deserve
the prestige of either word.
Perhaps the greatest
lesson from this and other such travesties is that our universe is created
from what we will tolerate and champion. Gestapo tactics work well on
weak minds and bodies. American University has perhaps become the Gestapo
headquarters for our nation.
